Following a thorough consultation and careful evaluation of all options, ROARR! has made the difficult decision to close the Secret Animal Garden.
The Secret Animal Garden has been an integral and much-loved part of ROARR! for many years, and this decision has not been taken lightly. We recognise the connection that many families have built with this area and our animals over time, and we want to thank our visitors for their continued support and understanding.
This decision has been made in response to the increasing requirements associated with holding a zoo licence. While we have consistently and successfully met these standards, the regulatory landscape continues to evolve. In light of this, we have taken the responsible decision to move away from operating animal facilities at the park under zoo-licensing going forward.
ROARR! has been welcoming families for 40 years, and we have had the pleasure of being its custodians for the past 20 of those. During that time, the park has naturally evolved and expanded with a wide range of popular new attractions. We are excited to continue that evolution in the years ahead, while remaining a much-loved day-out destination for families.
Work is already underway to secure carefully considered new homes for all animals. Our focus remains on ensuring their welfare at every stage and supporting a stress-free relocation throughout the process.
We are currently planning for the Secret Animal Garden to close at the end of February, with all animals rehomed by the end of April at the latest. We will share further updates as plans progress.
